Adèle Marie Toulouse-Lautrec Cis female ♀
Aliases: Adele (when i don't feel like typing out the accent)
Age: 3 years
Rank: Loner
Appearance
Square and solid, Adele is the picture of a Eurasian wolf, despite never having lived in her parents' motherland. She knows a few words in French, but very few.
Reputation + Personality
+Loyal. + Bold. +
Quiet. Melancholic. Passive.
-Paranoid. -Self-destructive. -Submissive.
Marks and open wounds do not mar her pristine, well-groomed coat, but such is a great deception on the part of Adele; she is incredibly self-destructive, constantly giving herself away when she cannot bear the weight of her own head upon her shoulders, associating herself with those that hurt her most. Not because she thinks that she deserves it (although, perhaps somewhere inside her, that idea has taken root); rather, she simply feels a compulsion to take these actions that don't make sense to her.

History
CW: csa & suicide implied, explicit suicidal ideation
- Born to Vernon Toulouse-Lautrec and Autumn Toulouse of Lautreca pack, lead by Alphaess Josephine Lautrec, littermate to Ethan and Gabriel.
- Very early life is largely uneventful; her parents are kind and present, and the pack is supportive enough, although some older members do not get along with her mother, Autumn, who was born a packless wolf and mated into the pack with Adele's pack-born father, Vernon. At this age, the children are not aware of the drama, and Adele's paternal aunt Michelle is raising a litter who is only 2 months older than Adele and her brothers. The cousins play together and are taught as a group often, making them each other's first friends.
- Just shy of her third month of life, Adele is abused by an older male in the pack; her cousin Naomi experiences similar abuse. They confess this to one another, and become closer as a result of it, but they do not get along well in other aspects, so this bond diminishes in strength a few months later. Adele tells her mother about the abuse, but Autumn tells her to keep it a secret. The older male is a high ranking council member in the pack, she explains, and Autumn is an outsider who is already considered untrustworthy and disloyal to the pack--her pups share a similar, if more quiet, discrimination. While she believes Adele, she does not have faith in the council's ability to do so, and fears that speaking out will cause the entire family to be exiled. Adele does not speak up again, fearing for her family's future.
- Nearing adolescence, Adele keeps quiet about the abuse, which becomes less frequent as she ages. Her mother takes care not to give the male any opportunities to get Adele alone. The male in question does not bother trying to harm Adele once she is physically strong enough to defend herself, but her meeker cousin Naomi is unfortunately not so bold as to deter him. Adele can tell this is the case. She does nothing, relieved to no longer be actively abused and feeling responsible for her entire family's safety and stability within the pack.
- Much to the shock of most of the pack, Adele's cousin, Naomi, is found dead. The scout who discovered her body says that she was found at the trunk of a tree just outside of territory, appearing to be asleep, but on further investigation was found to have passed earlier that morning. There are rumors of foul play; Naomi had become close friends with a young loner male who some in the pack believe to have manipulated her into partaking in foul elixirs that slowly poisoned her until her body could no longer take the toxins. Upon administering the lethal dose, one pack she-wolf surmised, the loner male must have realized what he had done and fled the scene, fearing retaliation from the girl's family.
A strange wolf's scent was indeed present at the scene of Naomi's resting body, but upon learning the news, Adele does not suspect that the scene was a murder. Although they had not been close prior to her passing, Naomi's downward spiral had been all to familiar to Adele, and it's her firm opinion to this day that Naomi knew what she was getting into that night. She does not cry over her cousin's passing, tragic as it may be, but she finds her mind stuck on the event all through the next night. She imagines what it must have felt like, imagines Naomi's sleeping body beneath grove, gnawed legs tucked into the grass, weary eyes forever closed to the world. It is not horror nor sadness that she feels as she marinates in these thoughts, deep into the early hours of the morning, but something else that she can't quite place. - Life picks up again, eventually, and Adele's abuser is still seated on the pack council. Adele quietly nears her second year. She is a good teenager, responsive to authority, eager to police her more outspoken peers (often at the cost of her relationships with them), eager to help out the pack and listen to her elders. She is close with her littermate, Gabriel, but otherwise does not get along with other yearlings due to her no-fun, kiss-ass attitude. At one point during adolescence, she enters a late sort of "tomboy" phase, making the effort to speak in the lowest registers of her voice and slipping in awkward, inappropriate profanities and comments. This phase does not last long, as it draws criticism from older members of the pack whom she looks up to, and Adele begins to try and adopt more feminine, demure qualities.
- Soon after her second birthday, Adele begins to experience strange episodes of fear and and panic; rapidly, the feelings begin to progess outside of fleeting moments, and her strange behavior draws the ire of her packmates. She becomes nervous and jumpy, completely uncharactiristic of her usual level and serene demeanor, as she is plagued by thoughts that her packmates are out to get her, either never believing her outsider blood to be enough or even outright wanting to harm her.
Notes
- "fc" is Antoschka from Wolfcenter Dörverden @ dawnthieves
- for my reference as to how i'm projecting onto this character so i remember: mild paranoid psychosis (chemical), mild OCD-like tendencies (chemical), depression (situational)
- doesn't like to be in charge; respects authority
